| elcome to Broomfield School. Our vision is to provide your sons and daughters with the very best education. We want our pupils to excel in all of the many dimensions that make up education in its fullest sense. Firstly, and centrally, we aim for our pupils to excel academically, vocationally and culturally, but also physically and in sports, as well as in their social, spiritual and moral lives. So that when your sons and daughters come to leave Broomfield School in five or seven years’ time, they will be knowledgeable, intelligent, well qualified, highly skilled, virtuous and well-rounded individuals, able to play their full part in society. Broomfield School was originally founded in 1938. At that time it was called Arnos School. In 1984, Arnos School was united with Minchenden School on our current site. It is at this time that our school was renamed Broomfield School. Today, Broomfield School is characterised by its commitment to hard work, its warm, welcoming nature and the dedication of its staff and governors to the education and enrichment of its pupils and students. Students were given an all-access tour of Newnham College and Queen’s College including taking a look in to students’ rooms in the halls of residence. They were able to talk to current students at Cambridge about their studies and their social life. There was also a very interesting talk from the Admissions Tutor from Newnham who gave some really good advice on the application process. All the students found the trip very informative and it gave them inspiration to aim higher and work harder. The students are looking forward to the next event in Broomfield School’s gifted and talented programme. | | GCE and GCSE Certificates | | GCE /GCSE certificates of pupils who completed this qualification in Summer 2012 are now available for collection from school Reception. Pupils are required to come in personally and collect their certificates. A photo identification will be required. If they cannot be collected personally then they can be collected by someone else providing they bring in a signed letter from the pupil authorising them to collect. Again, a photo ID of the person authorised to collect the certificates will be required. | | Early Closure and Non-Opening Procedures of the School | | Should the weather on any morning be such that you believe that the school might not be open, please look at the school website: www.broomfieldschool.co.uk where a message will be placed to say that the school has been closed.
